Ingredients

For the Kabobs
  • 1 cup strawberries hulled, tops left on
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks fresh
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 2 bananas sliced into thick rounds
  • 12 wooden skewers tips trimmed for kids
For the Chocolate Drizzle
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil divided, to thin the chocolate

Equipment

  • Wooden skewers
  • Microwave-safe bowls
  • Parchment-lined baking sheet
  • Serving platter

Method

  1. Wash and dry all the fruit thoroughly, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Thread the fruit onto skewers in a colorful alternating pattern — strawberry, pineapple, grape, banana, then repeat.
  3. Lay the finished kabobs on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Melt the dark chocolate chips with half the coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring between each, until smooth.
  5. Repeat with the white chocolate chips and remaining coconut oil in a separate bowl.
  6. Use a fork or piping bag to drizzle the dark chocolate over the kabobs in thin sweeping lines.
  7. Drizzle the white chocolate over the top in the opposite direction for a crisscross pattern.
  8. Let the chocolate set for 5-10 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate for 5 minutes to speed up setting.
  9. Transfer to a serving platter and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Pat fruit completely dry before drizzling or the chocolate won't stick. Add a teaspoon of coconut oil to the melted chocolate for a thinner, easier drizzle.
