Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 12 fresh jalapeños halved lengthwise, seeds and membrane removed
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 12 strips thin-cut bacon cut in half crosswise

Equipment

  • Wire rack
  • Foil-lined baking sheet
  • Small spoon or piping bag

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and set a wire rack inside a foil-lined baking sheet.
  2. Wash the jalapeños and cut them in half lengthwise. Remove all seeds and white membrane with a small spoon.
  3. Soften the cream cheese at room temperature for 15 minutes, then spoon or pipe it generously into each jalapeño half.
  4. Cut the bacon strips in half crosswise and wrap one half strip tightly around each filled jalapeño half.
  5. Secure with a toothpick if needed and place on the wire rack, cream cheese side up.
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes until the bacon is crispy and deeply golden and the cream cheese is hot and bubbling.
  7. Let cool for 3-4 minutes, remove toothpicks, and serve with ranch dressing or sour cream.

Notes

Wear gloves when handling jalapeños. Use thin-cut bacon on a wire rack for the crispiest result. Soften cream cheese fully before filling for the easiest application.
