Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2 jasmine green tea bags or 2 tsp loose-leaf jasmine green tea
  • 1 cup hot water heated to about 175°F, not boiling
  • 1 tbsp simple syrup or honey adjust to taste
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cold oat milk or whole milk
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Equipment

  • Tall glass
  • Small saucepan or kettle
  • Measuring cup

Method

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to about 175°F — just below boiling.
  2. Add 2 jasmine green tea bags and steep for 3-5 minutes, then remove the bags without squeezing them.
  3. While the tea is still warm, stir in the simple syrup or honey and vanilla extract until dissolved.
  4. Let the tea cool for 5 minutes at room temperature.
  5. Fill a tall glass all the way with ice.
  6. Pour the cooled tea concentrate over the ice.
  7. Top with cold milk or oat milk, pouring slowly for a layered look.
  8. Stir gently and taste, adjusting sweetness if needed.
  9. Serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

Brew at 175°F to avoid bitterness. Use double the tea bags for a stronger concentrate that holds up well over ice.
